Staff Sergeant Felix A. Zerangue.

392nd Bomber Squadron, 567th Bomber Group (Heavy).

 

Felix was born  in 1906 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

 

Father, Charles Zerangue.

Mother, Josephine (Roux) Zerangue.

Sister(s), Marie Bernardine, Agnes, Maybelle and Josephine Eva Zerangue.

Brothers, Louis F. Leon, Charles, Oswald and Philip J. Zerangue.

Spouse, Ruth W. Zerangue.

 

Felix entered  the Service from New Orleans, Louisiana in  Nov. 11, 1942 with service number # 18151481.

 

Felix A. Zerangue was a Left Waist Gunner onboard a B-24in the 392nd Bomber Squadron.

 

Felix‘s Crew-members and their position on-board the plane a B-24  were,

Felix was KIA Shot down by Enemy fighters and crashed near Bad Hersfeld, Germany on the return from a Bomb Mission to Gotha, Germany, on Feb. 24, 1944, and he is honored with an Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

2 crewmembers were K.I.A and 8 other Crewmembers were taken P.O.W by the Germans.

 

And he is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Departement de la Moselle, Lorraine, France.
