On November 26, 1943, during WWII, one thousand, one hundred and thirty eight men perished when a British troopship, the HMT Rohna, was attacked from the air and destroyed in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Algeria

Dale R. Yoder was a Corporal in the Army Air Corps.
Dale was KIA when on transport onboard the troopship HTM Rohna, they sailed in convoy when they were attacked by German airplanes witch were loaded with Henschel Hs 293 radio-guided, rocket-boosted glide bombs.
The Convoy opened fire and it seems that HTM Rohna was the only ship that was hit and sunk .
More than 1,100 people were killed, most of whom were US troops, on Nov. 26, 1943, he is honored with a Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.
Dale is buried at North Africa American Cemetery and Memorial, Carthage,
Tunis, Tunisia.
