Paul is born on 20 February 1918 in Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

Paul enlisted the service in Pennsylvania with service number # 2341634.

 

Paul was KIA when the USS Leary was Hit by a G7es Torpedo fired by the U-275 in the North Atlantic and sunk, on 24 December 1943, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Good Combat Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Expeditionary Medal, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal.

The G7es (T5) “Zaunkönig” (“wren”) was a passive acoustic torpedo employed by German U-boats during World War II. It was called the GNAT (German Navy Acoustic Torpedo) by the British.

Paul is buried/mentioned at Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial, Coton, South Cambridgeshire District, Cambridgeshire, England.
