George was KIA/MIA on the way back from the Mission from Norway, the plane was severe damaged by AA over the Target and they Ditched it in the North Sea on April 19, 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Air Medal, American Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.
