Alexander was Killed in Action when his plane was hit by FLAK and crashed near Altwarmbüchen, Germany, on Nov. 26, 1944, and he is honored with an Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Good Combat Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

Harry N. Alexander is mentioned/buried at Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.
