Frank was KIA during the mission, when the plane was hit by FLAK and blow up an crashed near Friedrichshafen, on March 18, 1944, and he is honored with an Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Frank is mentioned/buried at Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial
