Ellen enlisted the service in Wisconsin with service number # N-732770.

 

Ellen died of her wounds (four days later)sustained when a Bomb dropped beside her tent on Feb. 16, 1944, she is honored with a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Action Medal,. Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Ellen is buried/mentioned at Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Nettuno, Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale, Lazio, Italy.

She has also a Memorial Grave at Glenwood City Cemetery,

Glenwood City, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, USA.
