John enlisted the service in North Dakota with service number # O-422283.

 

John died non Battle in a training accident, training  for the Sicily (Amphibious) invasion on June 21, 1943, he is honored with a Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

John is buried/mentioned at North Africa American Cemetery and Memorial, Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia.
