Agan, Robert Lincoln

Name and Rank, Second Lieutenant Robert Lincoln Agan.

The 1211 Army Air Force Base Unit, was a part of the Air Transport Command as purpose, bringing supplies to U.S. forces. It also supported Fifteenth, Twelfth, and Ninth Air Forces operating from locations along the Mediterranean coast and Cairo, Egypt.

Robert L. Agan was the pilot aboard a C-47A on a Transport Mission, there is no MACR from this mission., so nothing no about his crewmembers.

 

Robert was born in 1918 in Broome County, New York.

Robert died on mission to Al Fashir (Sudan) when his plane got Engine failure and crashed on Masirah Island (Oman), on April 15, 1945, he is honored with a American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

Robert is mentioned/buried at North Africa American Cemetery and Memorial, Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia.

Robert also has a Memorial Grave at, Fayetteville Cemetery,

Fayetteville, Onondaga County, New York, USA.
