Stanford Adams rank/duty was a Staff Sergeant/Ball Turret Gunner in the 324nd Bomber Squadron.

Stanford Adams was Killed in Action during the Mission to the Schweinfurt(Germany) Ball Bearings Factory, when they were hit by FLAK, severe damaged, they crashed in France, on 17 August 1943, and he is honored with an Air Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

On the Website association from the 91st Bomber Group they speak;

Remaining crew brought aircraft back to and crash landed on grass at RAF Manston on Aug 17, 1943.

 

Stanford is mentioned/buried at Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold,

Departement de la Moselle, Lorraine, France.
