Parker Jr. , Howard

Howard was born  on  1922 in Hobart, Indiana.

  

Howard entered  the service from Indiana with service-number # 0-355209.

 

Howard Parker Jr. was Killed in Action during the landing, he had engine problems and attempted an emergency landing on the USS Wasp (CV-18 ).  His engine failed on the cross-leg approach to the carrier and he went into the water.  A search was made but no survivor was found,  on  Jan  20, 1945, Ensign Howard Parker Jr. Is honored with a Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal.

 

Howard is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
