Charles J. Acqotta died when the USS Mount Hood hat a internal explosion at Seehandler Harbour,New Guinea, on Nov. 10, 1944.

And he is buried at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
