Accardi is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon Navy and Marine Corps Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Vito is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
