William enlisted the service in Illinois with serial # 7550232.

 

William was KIA when the plane was severely damaged by FLAK  and during reparations lost his life on Dec. 12, 1944,  is honored with a  Purple Heart, Navy Cross, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

William is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
