William was KIA when the USS Morrison was on radar picket duty it was attacked by several Kamikaze plane’s on May 4, 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, The Meritorious Medal,  Good Conduct Medal, Expeditionary Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

William is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu County, Hawaii U.S.A.
