Joseph was KIA when the USS Braine was attacked by 2 Kamikaze plane’s and serious damaged it on May 27, 1945,he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon,  Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Joseph is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
