Samuel entered  the service from Wisconsin with service number # 8700156.

 

Samuel was KIA during The Battle off Samar, when the ship was Sunk by the Japanese Navy, on Oct. 25, 1944, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Samuel is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
