Clay enlisted the service in Louisiana with service number # 315043.

 

Clay was KIA when he reached the beaches after landing and got shot by Machine gun fire on 20 Nov. 1943, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Clay is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
