Samuel enlisted the service in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 8, 1942 with service number # 33265840.

Samuel’s rank/duty was a Technical Sergeant/Engineer flying with the 401th Bomber Squadron flying a  B-24.

Samuel was KIA/MIA during the Mission to the Naval-Yard Willemshaven, Germany, they were shot by enemy planes and crashed in the North-Sea on Nov. 3, 1943, Samuel is honored with an Air Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

Samuel is buried/mentioned at Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial  Coton, South Cambridgeshire District, Cambridgeshire, England.
