Benson entered  the service from Ft. McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia in Jan. 20, 1941 with service number # 34011905.

 

Benson C. Adams rank/duty was a Technical Sergeant in the 121st Infantry Regiment.

 

Benson was KIA during the Break true the German Defense at the Lessay/Périers road, on July 27, 1944, and he is honored with the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Benson is mentioned/buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France.

Benson has a Memorial Grave at Covington City Cemetery, Covington, Newton County, Georgia, USA.
