Julius was KIA after the Bomb drop over the Target Kaltenkirche, Germany when the plane was attacked by Enemy Fighters, and one was out of control and crashed between the waist and tail section and the plane blew up on April 7, 1945, and he is honored with the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

Julius is mentioned/buried at Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.

Julius also has a Memorial Grave at Northwood Cemetery
