Fulmer, Claude Thomas

Name and Rank, Private First Class Claude T. Fulmer.

Unit/Placed in, 50th Armored Infantry Battalion (C-Comp.), 6th Armored Division.

 

Claude was born on 13 September 1916 in Saint Mary’s, Pleasants County, West Virginia.

Father, Charles Sherman Fulmer.

Mother, Silvia (Smith) Fulmer.

Sister(s), Mary E. Erma and Eva Fulmer.

Brother(s), Joe Fulmer.

Spouse, Marguerite Nell (Strahin) Fulmer.

Son, Charles Thomas Fulmer.

 

Claude enlisted  the Army at Fort Thomas, West Virginia in Feb. 5, 1944.

 

Claude T. Fulmer was a Private First Class (C-Comp) in the 50th Armored Infantry Battalion.

 

Claude was KIA in the fights with the German forces over the town of Merlebach, Lorraine, France on Nov. 19, 1944, and he is honored with the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksmanship Badge, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

And he is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial,Saint-Avold, Departement de la Moselle, Lorraine, France
