Chester entered the Service from New York City, New York in Oct. 27, 1942 with service number # 12159974.

Chester A. Tarlano was a Private First Class( A-Compagnie Force C) in the 5th Ranger Battalion.

Chester was KIA during the landings on Omaha beach on D-Day on June 6, 1944, and he is honored with the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

And he is buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer,
Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France.
