Albert was KIA in the counter attacks from the Germans at Son on 20 September 1944, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Ship Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Parachute Badge, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Albert is buried/mentioned at Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.
