Edward entered  the service from Kentucky with service number # 35107679.

Edward G. Nachand was a 2nd Lieutenant in the 8th Infantry Regiment.

Edward was KIA near Cherbourg, on June 13, 1944, he is honored with the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

Edward is buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer,

Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France.

He also has a Memorial Grave at Walnut Ridge Cemetery , Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, USA.
