William H. Allen was a 2nd Lt. ( Navigator) with the 708th Bomber Squadron.

Nine  crewmembers were K.I.A. 1 crew member (Hess) bailed out of the plane before it crashed, and was til the end of the war a P.O.W.

William was KIA in a Crash 5 miles of Koningslutter, Germany on Apr. 29, 1944 on the Mission to Bomb Berlin, he is honored with an Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Cluster,  Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

William is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial ,Margraten, Holland.
