Boyce enlisted the service in South Carolina with service number # 211564.

 

Boyce died of his wounds on-board the USS Pinkney due to Injuries sustained during the Landing on Blue-Beach Iwo Jima on 26 Feb. 1945,  he is honored with a Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Expeditionary Medal, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Boyce is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu County, Hawaii U.S.A.
